Here is another hand painted kitchen in Lancashire supplied from handmade kitchens direct.
HPKUK Ltd specialist kitchen painter for Lancashire is Jason, a very experienced and knowledgeable kitchen painter, Jason covers the North West but predominantly covers the Lancashire area. The clients Vicky and Derry had recently purchased a kitchen from handmade kitchens direct. The unpainted kitchen had been fitted superbly by their joiner with lovely wooden worktops.
Vicky had been inspired by the beautiful kitchens seen on-line and in glossy magazines, all these are expensive. But then she came across handmade kitchens direct. This kitchen company are fabulous as they supply their kitchens so you can paint them any way you like and in any colour, once fitted. This one had a good sized island and just enough cupboard space for a room this size.
Once Jason had seen the kitchen he knew it would be a pretty straight-forward job to undertake. The in-frame kitchen doors are hung by cabinet hinges so easy enough to remove. Jason provided Vicky with a sample board on arrival, to show what the finish on her handmade kitchen would look like. The quote was given previously by photographs and a start date was booked in, there and then… now that the work involved had been fully assessed and approved.
The equivalent colours of Farrow and “Ball Hague Blue” for the island and “Cornforth White” for the the main units, prove to be a very popular choice at present. The colour scheme offers a brilliant contrast between the striking deep blue tone of the island against the soothing off white on the main cabinets.
The first job on arrival was to protect the floor as well as the work-surfaces, this also offers a cleaner working environment. After a light clean down and some fine sanding using our dust free sanding systems, all surfaces had the remaining dust tacked off and given a final wipe over. All the doors and drawers are removed and placed on our drying racks. All the doors, draws and hinges are numbered in sequence so we know exactly where it all goes, when we put it back together.
Next step: A special adhesion primer is applied to all surfaces to be painted and left to cure overnight. This is followed by a light sanding; enough to make the primed timber smooth but careful enough as to not remove primer from the tulip-wood and MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) doors and frames.
Now that the base coat has been meticulously prepared, the first of the top coats is applied. The final coat transforms this once unpainted kitchen into a silky smooth piece of art and looking like a showroom centerpiece ! The colours work fabulously and more so the look on the clients faces is priceless, as they are amazed just how good it looks. With all the doors and draws put back together, just as the were, the hardware refitted and a de-mask of the protective tape and masking paper and final clean down… an opportunity for a few final pics with the clients permission.
The kitchen looks stunning! Happy client, happy painter, the van loaded and were off to our next hand painted kitchen in Lancashire! hand painted kitchen in Lancashire
