Hand Painted Kitchens UK - HPKUK Ltd

Looking for a Kitchen cabinet Painter Preston Lancashire has just got a lot easier.  Most kitchens these days are able to be painted. In this article I go through how we updated this rather tired and dark kitchen and gave it a much needed lift without the expense of ripping it out. Or by replacing it with a new one. The kitchen was in good condition considering it must of been 20 years old except for the odd repair here and there. kitchen painter Preston Lancashire. kitchen painter Preston Lancashire. Kitchen cabinet Painter Preston Lancashire. Kitchen cabinet Painter Preston Lancashire

Deborah had looked at our website and had seen painted kitchens we have done similar to hers. As they lived fairly close by I called to have a look. From the photos it looked big, upon seeing it I realised this was going to be one of the bigger kitchens that we paint. Kitchen cabinet Painter Preston Lancashire. Kitchen cabinet Painter Preston Lancashire

The job was fairly easy to price, a nice colour to match the granite and also changing the handles. Also we had a couple of wooden work surfaces to re lacquer as well as the bar stools. With the price accepted we looked at the options for the units, String was looking like the perfect colour, as for the stools, Cord. Kitchen cabinet Painter Preston Lancashire

On to the job

With all the kitchens we paint nowadays its second nature to protect all the worktops and floors. All hardware is removed before being cleaned and degreased. After cleaning it is now time to lightly sand down every part, just enough so the oil based adhesion primers will dry and bond to the surface.

The grip adhesive primer when dry is a perfect base coat for the waterborne tops coats that we use which are extremely tough and hard wearing.

Why use waterborne paints?

The reason for using waterborne paints is they do not change colour. Not at all similar to oil based but last much longer too. Not to mention a little harder to apply. As we dismantle as much of the kitchen as we can this ensures that we do not miss anything.

With the kitchen now painted it was time to sand. With it stripped back and our waterborne lacquers applied they look fabulous and brand new. All we had to do was assemble the kitchen and fix the new hardware to the doors and drawers. The bar stools are sprayed in the workshop. This is far quicker way to do them, again this leaves a flawless finish…
